It has always been remarkable to see another struggling artiste arise to stardom, shining prominently like the radiant sunshine, finally reaping the benefits of success they desired, maintaining the pace which the people hoped for and keeping their fans alive. One of Jamaicas finest entertainers doing hard work for the people is emerging to forefront with positive attitudes, conscious lyrics and good behavior, habitually calm and cool but hes no push over. Fighting hard for the people and giving good encouragement. He was christened as Devon Andrew Howe but later took on to the stage name Iestro. Born on the twenty fifth (25th) day of July 1969 and raised up in Water House, Kingston for about eight (8) years. He is the fifth (5th) child of seven (7) children from Mrs. Hazel and Joseph Howe including two other siblings for Mr. Howe and another for his mother which is not Mr.Howes. At age nine (9) he moved to Spanish Town to live for quite a while then later moved back to Water House at age 26, now hes back in Spanish Town where he currently resides. Devon has always been involved with music ever since he was a toddler attending Sunday school and singing in a choir. In the early 80s while attending Spanish Town High School, formerly Spanish Town Secondary, he used to associate himself with schoolmate and artiste, Thriller U. Along with other group members which they all used to beat desk tops imitating a rhythm and they would take turn deejaying or sing a song. He loves music so much, on regular occasions he use to hide and go to stage shows after coming from church which earned him the result of getting a proper whipping. It was always a pleasure going to those shows, headline by Josey Whales, Charlie Chaplin and other great veteran entertainers. The lick them did hot but the music made me feel nicer, he added. Coming from a poor Chirstian family, Devon had always wanted to be independent and more than anything else he wanted his parents to feel found of him so after he graduated from school he decided to learn a trade, cabinet making was his first choice then refrigeration after. At age 25 his 1st son Ackeem was born, the artiste still did not get a big break in the music industry yet so he had to struggle harder to survive with one more mouth to feed. The years shifted swiftly and three more kids were born, Shackeem, Javanne and Jordan with two separate Babymothers. His responsibilities got intense, and he had to work harder than before representing that significant father role. Iestro is Still seeking a way through, he frequenly use to hang out at King Jammys and Black Scorpio studio. Well, my first recording was a duet with Mr. Classic formerly known as Gurt Up. It was in 1996 at King Jammys Studio, a song title What you Gonna Do. At that time it never did so very well due to lack of promotion and poor management, he explained. Still battering around, from studio to studio earned him the experience to record at various studios including Arrows, Tuff Gong, Mixing Lab and Cell Block. His second song on a 45 was released within late 1999-2000 on the witty label, From a Distance on the Mr. Bassy rhythm. Roy Francis from Mixing Lab Studio put out two 45 for me, a duet and a single. More songs were done but only Mount Zion and the duet with Jahmore called Herb Street were out, me also done more recordings for a lot of top local producers, me still a give thanks for the accomplishment. Like an eagle with a pair of wings soaring to new heights, this artiste is full of perseverance and he has no cause to pause, currently working out with Black shine Productions who released the song 'So Many Times' doing successively well on radio airwaves. 'She Hurt Me' is also creating a storm on the radio, promoted by Black Shine Productions. He has performed on shows like Aries Ka, 2007, he was introduced on stage (Rebels Salute 2007), by Junior Kelly, he also performed and other local and community shows island wide. "My advice to all is, be true to yourself, love people and use money, skill is over, praise Jah Rastafari the omnipotent." Special thanks to the most High for life, Mamma, good friends like Oniel, C. Hines, my brother Patrick, Amaziyah the great and many more who helped, encouraged and strengthened me. Peace, Love and Unity.
