Brutality. Truth. Life. These three elements are the fuel to the fire from which the band Indespise has risen. Indespise hails from Southern Ohio, an area that hears more twang than guitar slaying. Despite the almost non-existent platform in the area for their extreme style of music, Indespise is quickly making a name for themselves as one of Central Ohio’s best known death metal bands. The idea for the band began many years ago as lead guitarist Adam Routte and drummer Mike Horsley began jamming together when they were 15 years old. They went through a numerous amount of line-ups over a four-year span but just couldn’t seem to find the right pieces to finish the puzzle. Enter rhythm guitarist Dave Buckner. Dave found his way to Adam through a mutual friend in the metal scene. After playing together for a couple months , they still couldn’t seem to get anything rolling. Finally, Adam took Dave to Mike’s and finally things began to fall into their place.. After a few months of adjusting and locking into each other’s playing styles, the band was ready for another piece of the puzzle to be added. A vocalist. Enter Josh Richter. Richter found his way to the band, after the band had worked very hard to develop their very technical style of death metal. Richter brought a very lyrically diverse style to the front man position. Combine that with the extremely technical and unique drumming and rhythm work that is mixed with amazing lead work, and you have the very unique and interesting style of death metal that Indespise has used to make themselves known. With all the pieces in place, the band works hard every practice to build on the style they have created. The members of Indespise refuse to settle for anything less than the most brutal, aggressive and creative thing that they can produce. This is a band that has the tools and the capabilities needed to make a name for themselves in the death metal genre. In their time together, they have found themselves sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in metal. They have played with national acts such as Vader, The Faceless, Woe Of Tyrants, Dead Will Rise, Necrophagist, Ion Dissonance, Cattle Decapitation, Decapitated, Malevolent Creation, Year of Desolation, Abigail Williams, Apiary, As Blood Runs Black, Beneath the Massacre, Cephalic Carnage, Skinless, Unholy, Vivesect, Hate Eternal, Skeletonwitch, Soilent Green and Silent Civilian. The year of Indespise is still to come as the fan base grows larger, not only because of their music, but their loyalty to their fans and the respect of the fellow bands that join them on the stage.
