LAY LAY Lainnie Sophia Torres, was born in Reno, Nevada March 30 1992. Her parents, James Bowers and Alexandra Torres, moved to North Carolina shortly after her sister, Vanessa Bowers, was born. Her parents soon after divorced. She was then raised by her Mother and Grandmother, who played an influential role when it came to recognizing her Colombian roots. LAY LAY Lainnie Sophia Torres, was born in Reno, Nevada March 30 1992. Her parents, James Bowers and Alexandra Torres, moved to North Carolina shortly after her sister, Vanessa Bowers, was born. Her parents soon after divorced. She was then raised by her Mother and Grandmother, who played an influential role when it came to recognizing her Colombian roots. Lay Lay had always had a love for music. She joined choir at the age of 9 and then began writing. At 11 her family then moved to Fairfield, California to be closer to her father's side of the family. In that same year the "Hyphy Movement" had reemerged, also become a great influence on Lay Lay. From her transition of adolescence to adulthood, the bay area has helped nurture her into the artist she is today. She grew a great appreciation for the bay area's culture and felt at home. It wasn't until summer 2010, when she began taking her rap career seriously. She started performing at local showcases, releasing music via Myspace, and networking with other artist. She recently dropped her first official video titled "Fall Back" and released her first official mixtape through Swagglegends Ent. titled "Out My Mind". Thinking outside the box and bringing her love for all kinds of music has been a goal for Lay Lay. Being brought up with a diverse library of music from Celia Cruz to the Police from Tupac to Janet Jackson and Mac Dre, has inspired Lay Lay to cross over boundaries in her music. At only 19 years old she has a whole career ahead of her, we're only at the brink of her beginning.
