Coming from Woodside Queens, Isaac Quest has faced more adversity in his young life than most people face in their entire lives. Born 5 months premature, he was fighting for his life the minute he entered this world. Doctors were skeptical in his survival, but miraculously he was able to overcome his near death experience and carry on. Isaac’s passion for music came at an early age when his grandfather exposed him to various instruments and musical genres. A guitar and piano player, his grandfather developed his appreciation for music while also exposing him to the many genres of music outside of hip hop. This is reflected in the music he produces today, using many different sounds and instruments not associated with hip hop. His world took a turn for the worse at age 12 when he lost his grandfather to cancer that he contracted as a first responder during 9/11. Isaac Quest’s music centers around these childhood experiences and how they affected him throughout his life. He is very outspoken about the hardships he endured and how they affected his life. His music is the voice of the younger generation, dealing with all the problems they face that others may not see or care to know about. His music touches on the many different issues teens face including relationships, depression, fitting in and loss. His style is a mixture of traditional hip hop with elements from rock, house, techno and R&B. All these genres mixed together create a sound unique to Isaac alone that speaks to many different types of people. Isaac Quest has recently completed his first Mixtape/Album “The Music Within,” which he also produced. Fellow Queens rapper King Sage was on board as well, providing the mixing and mastering of the album. Quest is the new face of music, speaking of the serious issues that affect everyone in their daily life. He speaks from the heart and can articulate his feelings and emotions in music that can touch your soul. This is his Quest for glory.
