JacQuese Raemon Steele was born on May 21st 1990. She began singing from the time that she could talk. JacQuese wrote her first song in the third grade and sang her first solo on stage as a fourth grader. It was at this point where she developed a love for songwriting and singing, and from then on knew she wanted to be a star. At the age of eleven JacQuese began recording in the studio hooks for her father’s local rap group, and shortly after began writing and recording verses. At the age of fourteen JacQuese released a two song CD, which included Groove box, and her hit song High School Sweetheart, in which she wrote and co-produced. As a freshman in high school JacQuese discovered musical theatre and developed a great love for it. She started out in chorus and dance roles in musicals like South Pacific and Oklahoma!, and soon after snagged bigger roles in community theatre production‘s like “Ragtime,” where she played the understudy of Sarah’s friend, and playing the lead role in the Kalamazoo Civics’ production of Regina Taylor’s off Broadway play “Crowns,” directed by Broadway’s very own Jerry Dixon (“Once on this Island,” “Five guy’s Named Moe.”).
