Born in the beautiful twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, an excited and extremely talented Music Producer/ Recording Engineer decided to make his passion and dream into a reality. Keston ‘Jahbez’ Prescott , has always had love for all types of music and was fascinated on what it took to create this incredible thing that draws everyone together, you know, like our motto. At the early age of five when he was first introduced to a dj set and the so called sound system, from all the way till he was eighteen, Jahbez , as he is known, began mastering every avenue to perfect his craft. He shooted off as a disc jockey, his influences mainly from a sound system era like Stone Love and Kilamanjaro, conscious music was his thing. However, the love for Hip Hop increased tremendously with the first album that he had ever bought, which was undoubtedly, Jay-Z “Reasonable Doubt”. The album changed his life, someone was actually rapping to what was going on in his life on a daily basis. This was real. In 2003, with the violent slaying of his best friend, Jahbez was compelled to quit the life he had (made a conscience decision to make music his life) and music was definitely a way to channel the negative energy into something positive. Something he had to do to survive in the streets. Music became his life and his companion. He began studying everything in music, did a couple courses that were in a small-man budget, and focused on top producers as Dr. Dre, DJ Premer, Swiss Beats, Jus Blaze just to name a few. He listened to everybody he could get his hands on. He didn’t want to duplicate them but wanted to learn about their techniques. He wanted his own sound, his beat, his rhythm. HIS OWN…. And out of nothing… he became something. Jahbez began making his mark undoubtedly, creating his own company ‘MINDSET MUSIC’ and as they say, the rest was history..
