CREDITS -was music director for Second City where he collaborated with Catherine O'Hara, Bruce Pirrie, Robyn Duke, and many other comedy improvisors that came through while he was there. -he has worked with international legends Bo Diddley, Otis Rush, Sha Na Na, Gary US Bonds and many more -he has performed with well known Canadian artists Gaye DeLorme, Rusty Reed, Dave Babcock, Jeremiah McDade, and Amos Garrett -as music director of the Banff World TV Festival has worked with people like Bob Newhart, John Cleese, and Dame Edna. VENUES -the Yellow Door (Montreal), Second City Theatre (Toronto and Santa Monica), Sketchfest (Seattle), the Saskatoon Folk Club, the Ironwood Grill (Calgary), the Minstrel Cafe (Kelowna), the Brown Derby (Tampa), the Regina Folk Festival, the Sasquatch Folk Festival, the Works Festival, and many Edmonton venues including the Edmonton Folk Club, the Edmonton Folk Festival, the Hovel, the Edmonton Singer/Songwriter Festival, the Blue Chair, the Citadel Theatre, the Winspeare Center, and the Haven Social Club. OTHER CREDITS To date, Jan Randall has scored over 700 television shows in Canada for the likes of the Discovery Channel, NFB, and CBC for programs including David Suzuki's "Nature of Things." Recognition for the quality of his original soundtracks include the Alberta Motion Picture Industry Association’s award for best music in 1998 for the NFB documentary "Lost Over Burma" which was narrated by Christopher Plummer. In 2001 he was both Musical Director and Composer for the World Championships in Athletics opening and closing ceremonies which was broadcast live to over four billion people. Jan Randall has also composed three ice ballets for the National Ice Theatre of Canada-Midsummer Night’s Ice Dream was produced as a television special and subsequently arranged for concert as an orchestral suite. Jan’ has a degree in music composition, studied jazz and big band arranging at North Texas State University, and received a scholarship to attend the Banff School of Fine Arts. A long time resident of Canada, he has dual US/Canadian citizenship. He is cousins with Arlo Guthrie.
