Music is what brought Jason Levis and Jon Fisher together nearly four years ago. Collectively, the two had extensive musical backgrounds including writing, performing, touring, recording, and producing.
Levis, previously of Universal Recording Artists Cherry Monroe, has been playing music for 15+ years. Having had major label success and spending several years touring at such a young age, a bright future on this path seemed inevitable. Fisher, having left college and his small town success at 18, pursued the career he'd always wanted. This pursuit included a move 3500 miles away to Los Angeles. After rubbing elbows with some of the names of the industry, performing and recording an album, Jon knew this valuable information could be better used to further brighten his future...
Levis and Fisher, both with seemingly successful futures, had no idea that once their paths had crossed they would use their collective experiences to help similar artists on their own path to success.
In early 2007, the two teamed up on the recording and production of Fisher's sophomore album "Horseshoes and Hand Grenades." Jon took notice of Levis' abilities immediately, "After working with such talented and experienced producers and musicians in LA, I had no idea the same sort of professionalism and quality existed in my back yard."
Fisher's talents did not go unnoticed by Levis either. "Talent itself is hard to come by, but to find such ease in putting that talent to use collaboratively, is extremely rare." said Levis of Fisher. Now, in 2011, the two have teamed up to form the beginnings of what is their own record label.
Currently untitled, their label offers much more than the traditional sense of the word. From artist discovery to artist development, song writing, engineering, recording, producing, marketing and providing a live concert experience, Levis and Fisher do it all.
"We often find artists with great talents but limited ability in playing an instrument or connections to studio musicians. We are able to provide these things for them. It's the kind of stuff that makes you feel good at the end of the day" Says Levis.
Along with artist development, the two are gaining recognition as a song writing team. The first fruit of their efforts, "Reach Out" is an inspirational pop/rock theme written for a worthy cause. The song lends the idea of hope to those in need by calling on those capable to take action and do something for someone else. "If we all just took the time to do a few small things when we had the chance, we really could make a difference." Says Fisher.
"Reach out", Now available on Ourstage and iTunes, has been adopted by Something Better Corporation to help represent their "Improvement Heroes" segment which is used to inspire people all around the world to better themselves, make the necessary changes to live a more fulfilled life, and to literally Reach Out to those in need.
