Jay Accent ( Jonas ) is a 19 year old Song Writer/Rapper/Producer/promoter that was born in Portugal, Lisbon ( Cascais ). He is the son of cape verdian parents. Jay Accent always had passion for music any type of music as long it had rhythm, and creativity. He was raised in portugal until his 14's. Then in 2005 he traveled to America where he resides now ( Brockton MA). That's when he started writing lyrics, and when he joined the Cape Verdean Rap Group 'CLASSICOS' in 2006. But then later on he dropped out of the group and started doing his music solo. Jay Accent is a talented writer and rapper not only he writes and raps in English but Portuguese and Cape Verdean Creole. Jay has so many dreams, but in music is what he believes the most. He believes he's going to make it. People criticized him a lot based on his style, but Jay Accent never walks with his head down. He walks tall, and keeps his "head up like my nose was bleeding". Some people got the talent who can make it out the hood, but then again some people don't have the patience, the drive, and the motivation to keep floating. It's hard to get a record deal or get into music business. Specially if you from Boston where a lot of people do not make it. Jay believes that the key to success is PATIENCE. And of course faith in God. If you don't have that you know it won't come. he says he'll never stop until success arrives. Fuck the third PERSON! I'm going in on the first PERSON! Jonas De Andrade better known as "Jay Accent". Jay for the JONAS, and Accent for the way I pronunciate the words. ( I have an accent ). Well I have been in the music bizz since a very young age. What 1st started off as a hobby that I did in my free time has evolved into a passion that continually motivates me to strive to produce, and engineer the best sounding music I can possible mix. As I grew up I was exposed through various types of music, but in 6th grade everything changed. I had everything I needed when I wrote my very first "rap". Not knowing how to song write, or flow on track I pratice often and it became a habit discovered what my talent and destiny might be and within hardwork and patience, and dedication. I started to write more and more often then I became good at writing in english. My english teachers always liked me because of the way I wrote essays, poems, and long compositions because I always had deep topics. Of course I write with a couple of erros. I am not the best song writer ( I'm not from USA ), but five years strong! I wanted to master perfection and learn from mistakes to my early arrangements that weren't so great. My first music software production was FL studio, pro tools m-powered, and Acid. Within practice I finally found my touch, and I feel that everything is in right timing, and the right ear. HARD TO BELIVE BUT I MIX MY SONGS WITH NO, NO, NOOOOO... STUDIO EQUIPMENT NO sound proof or booth! only a MIC and a PC! Imagine If I have all the gear ? Giving up is the last thing in my mind and I want to continue music production and engineering until I get the desired dream. I thank God for all the blessings and challenges I face with music and life. Now what is missing ? Radio Airplay and more views, but I know some day I'll have that. That's where I will continue to fulfill my path to success. I'm a freshman, and I'm a college student at NEIA to perfect my knowledge into the recording world! I will promote all my songs I will meet people! I'm not a shy guy I always ask people questions about what they do and their future I always ask if I can walk in and start a relationship. Now at 19 years old I work hard every day learning from the best hoping that one day I'll be on top.
