Citing Tupac “All Eyez On Me” as the first CD he ever owned is a true testament to the kind of classic music that would later influence Jay West’s style and work ethic. After moving back to Oakland in 2003 Jay West wouldn’t get into the studio until 2005 when he recorded his first raps. Although he enjoyed the raps he didn’t take it seriously until 2006 when he learned how to properly format a song and write bars. With his newfound passion he joined Tah MF and Young Phantom to form Fly Street Gang.
