Biography

“I knew at age 10 that there would be no future for myself that didn’t involve music,” she says. “Yet for reasons still unknown to me, any hope I had of that being a reality was lost and I walked away from it all in 2005. Years passed but thankfully I did return with renewed faith and confidence that this was my calling in life. The clarity that I gained during my hiatus I like to call a blessing in disguise because I don’t think this EP would have been created without it.” Growing up Breanne Primeau mainly listened to Christian and Country music artists such as Rachael Lampa, Stacie Orrico, Martina McBride and Jo Dee Messina. While perhaps seemingly limited, these genres really helped her to develop her own unique writing style. Once you’ve listened to her music you will quickly find that her favorite subjects write about are those of encouragement and self-assurance. “Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a good love song just as much as the next person but it seems the radio stations are flooded with them as if nothing else matters in life,” Breanne says. “People that don’t know me might think maybe I just can’t relate to love songs but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. In reality I just think life is full of so much more than just love, and I want to write and sing about those things too.” Although Breanne has been performing all over New England for over 16 years at coffeehouses, weddings, competitions and other various events she has yet the opportunity to showcase original music. “This is very exciting for me because for the first time I’m going to sing words that are coming straight from me!” she exclaimed. “For my upcoming EP, one of the first songs that we worked on titled ‘Take the First Step’ is a prime example of what I’m talking about,” she continues. “It’s about pushing yourself beyond what you imagine achievable. I’m hoping that this song really gives the right person a good shake to wake them up. That it helps them realize they can’t sit around and wait for their dream to land in their lap. We’re human, we all mess up but from my own experience I know one of the biggest mistakes we can make is to sit and do nothing. This song is so important to me for that reason and I want everyone to know that there is hope and it starts with them.” Looking forward to a fresh start, Breanne teamed up with the talented song writing duo of Macrides and French out of Boston. Together they have worked very hard to create this unique album that’s been about 1 1⁄2 years in the making. “We’ve created something that you can’t just throw into any genre so I like to classify it as Soulful Pop with a hint of Jazz influence,” she continues. “We’re really proud and excited about what we’ve produced, so I’m praying most people like it and at least one important person in the music industry too,” she smiles.
