Jeremy Cole (J.Cole) was born in East St.Louis,IL, but quickly moved to Belleville ,IL. His father Hank Coleman has been doing music for years and inspired Jeremy to get involved. his father would always play songs he recorded and beats he would record on everyday. Then Jeremy got the feel for music to be all around him. In school Jeremy got in involved in alot of the music activities like glee club, band, and recorder club. Jeremy Cole (J.Cole) was born in East St.Louis,IL, but quickly moved to Belleville ,IL. His father Hank Coleman has been doing music for years and inspired Jeremy to get involved. his father would always play songs he recorded and beats he would record on everyday. Then Jeremy got the feel for music to be all around him. In school Jeremy got in involved in alot of the music activities like glee club, band, and recorder club. Later when J.Cole became 10 years old his friend Jerome Stewart offered him to be in a rap group. Jeremy joined the group, called Down Street Mafia, and was the producer of all the beats for the group. Jeremy says, "I was a little nervous the first time we worked on a beat, but it came out fine". J.Cole had first made his beats on a casio keyboard and castte tapes. J.Cole was also the engineer of the group and recorded all the songs. "I got most the help from my dad when it came to recording, because he has done it before", J.Cole says. The group recorded two songs then broke up. Four years later J.Cole got back together with his group and the name changed to Loui Mob. There was also a member added who came from North Carolina. J.Cole was 14 and later he found a program to make beats on called Fruity Loops Studio. he started to work with the program everyday and made dinky beats at first. "I remember my first beat it was so simple and me and my friends loved it and got crunk off it", says J.Cole. Now J.Cole is 15 and is still currently in Loui Mob. He makes beats for the group and records for the group. Now that his beats are getting noticed around school he will get them noticed around the world.
