BiographyJeff Givens, also known in some circles as “The Bourbon Cowboy”, proves it’s a lifestyle, not an occupation. He has lived the gypsy-troubadour-poet’s life for over 30 years. Having seen life from nearly every angle, like Bukowski, Lennon, Kerouac and the rest of his tragic brand of heroes, he’s truly lived “the life” long enough to write about it. Born in Manchester, Tennessee and raised in Chicago, his musical influences are as wide as the road is long. He has played his songs for the good people of London, Boston, New York, Nashville, Queen City and all throughout the South, as well as his beloved Chicago. One fateful, drunken Kentucky night, he called his revered musical soulmate Jason Botka; with whom he toured years before, and maniacally told him he was ready to make “the record of my life”. Jason, who by this time was a well respected Chicago producer and performer in several Little Rock and Chicago bands, invited the ol’ Cowboy to saddle up and get started. Also along for the ride are talented engineer and co-producer Mike Kozitka, “Tele-licious” guitarist Neil Laferty, unfaltering bassist Alex D. Evans and an incredible supporting cast.  All involved gave deeply of themselves to make an honest record filled with the pain, pride and passion of the Bourbon Cowboy.
