As one of the fastest growing musicians in Canadian Country music, Jerry Sereda has taken the industry by storm. Having shared the stage with the likes of Dierks Bentley, Shane Yellowbird, and Jason Blaine, Jerry is quickly making his mark as a talented singer and performer. Jerry Sereda has received inspiration from the classic country artist like Hank Williams, and Johnny Cash to the modern country artist such as Keith Urban, and Dierks Bentley. Jerry has loved to entertain and sing to audiences for as long as he can remember. It was this love of singing that inspired Jerry to teach himself how to play the guitar in 2003, which would allow his music to be more portable. Jerry had his public debut at the Centennial Concert Hall for the NCI Country Jam in September of 2006. Since this public debut Jerry has taken any opportunity to perform in front of an audience. Jerry Sereda began writing songs in 2003 and has a style of writing that combines the descriptive storytelling of classic country with the upbeat rhythms of modern country music. Jerry’s style of singing has been compared to the “styles of country rockers Keith Urban and Tim McGraw” (Grassroots News, June 26, 2007) Jerry is a proud member of the Métis community who has grown up in the peaceful settings of the Duck Mountains where he learned a lot about the land and the wilderness. These experiences coupled with his experiences in larger urban centers have given Jerry much of his inspiration for writing songs that invoke emotional images in the minds of audiences young and old. Jerry’s first song “Time” was released and featured on the Star Catcher compilation CD on June 21st, 2007. Jerry is now putting the finishing touches on his debut album with a release date scheduled for the winter of 2009.
