Jh413. Where does the name "Jh413" come from? Many people believe it is based on John 4:13, which says, "Jesus answered and said unto her, 'Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again' (KJV)." However, Joseph Hobdy (frontman of Jh413) has a different explanation. Hobdy says that the "413" in the band's name is actually based on Philippians 4:13, which says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (NKJV)." The "Jh" is simply the starting initials of Joseph's first and last name. Interesting, huh? Currently, the band includes lead vocalist & keyboardist Joseph Hobdy (also known by his fans as "Da Hobster") and lead background vocalist Starlette Hobdy (who, ironically is Joseph's mom and the band's manager). "We've had as little as just two members to as many as eight in our band, which has been challenging at times, but has also been a learning experience, " says Hobdy. While the lineup of this band changes from time to time, their mission is still the same. "We want to let others know that there is a greater purpose for their lives, " says Hobdy. When asked about the band's sound, Joseph (who is the band's primary songwriter) says that it is not limited to just any genre. Some of the elements in our music include Rock, Pop, Gospel, and R&B." As they enter into the new year, they release their debut single "I Will" (releasing Nov. 30). A writing collaboration done by Joseph Hobdy and fellow songwriter Jennifer Ledford, and produced by Eric Boseman (James Newton Howard, Zoe Theodorou, NarroPath), "I Will" is more than just a single for Jh413. "We had so much fun working on this project, and we can't wait to have more music ready for the world to hear", says Hobdy. So, what's next for Jh413? Only time will tell. Until then, Jh413's current message is to encourage others that "as long as our God is around, we will never be brought down."
