Jhi-Ali was born in Louisville, Kentucky to a single parent mother who was only 17 at the time. Jhi-Ali was born in Louisville, Kentucky to a single parent mother who was only 17 at the time. His mother decided it would be best if Jhi stayed with his father's mother in Denver, Colrado until things got better for her.After some time in Colorado, Jhi moved state to state staying with different relatives until the third grade and then moved back to Louisville where Jhi would first begin to create music writing his first rap for a school assignment, he knew he had a gift ever since. Jhi would develop his style from that point on by writing songs and freestyling with friends, promosing his sister that he would make it one day and have the things they wanted. Living with up to eleven people in a three bedroom house, you can imagine how life was for him as a child.Jhi's older brother took a more direct approach by becoming heavily involved in selling drugs and dealing with gangs, naturally Jhi followed in his big brother's footsteps which landed him a couple trips to Jefferson County Youth Corrections (J.C.Y.C.). His grandmother decided to move once again to start over, this time to Huntsville, Alabama where he met Mali Boi (Super Producer) while freestyling in the highschool cafeteria. While attending Alabama A&M Jhi's friend Deno introduced him and Mali to C.P. who had his own label Slow Motion Sounds.He stepped in the booth one time, spit a verse, stepped out, signed a contract.Jhi-Ali went on to be featured on mixtapes and albums which earned him to be mentioned as one of the best, period. After years of hard work and dedication Jhi-Ali released his album My Way taking you through his journey of life with his lyrics on the song My Way and other songs like Why Me and also motivational songs like Get Up this debut album show's the diversty of Jhi-Ali. With one album under his belt and being featured on hit song Rollin' which gained attention from FADER & URB Magazine landing articles with the Hood Headlinaz, forming his own imprint X.O. Entertainment with his X.O. Family Mata & Gunt 1/3. Recently Jhi-Ali appeared on a few songs on Mata's Dreadman III, a new song with Block Beattaz new artist Lyrx and S.T. 2 Lettaz of G-Side be on the look out for Jhi-Ali in 2008
