When the hopes and ambitions of a talented young Nashville college student meet the musicality and passion of a true southern gentleman, the sky really is the limit, and young aspiring singer/songwriter Jimmy Smith is already soaring high. With the impending release of his first single “What if She Loved Me,” Jimmy hopes to set the stage for his future career on the Nashville music scene as a novel solution to the evolving country-pop dilemma. Smith is no newcomer to the musical stage. Singing in church programs and school functions all his life, Jimmy became acquainted early with his ability to inspire and move those who listened to him. Taking a shot for the “big time” in college, Smith has also auditioned for countless singing contests such as America’s Got Talent, Nashville Star, Can You Duet, and the wildly popular American Idol. While he attained some acclaim from producers, he hopes that his decision to cut an album will finally be the “Yes!” he needs to share his voice, journey, and story with the world. “I see myself as simply a page in the book, or a thread in the fabric that is country music. There are plenty of amazing artists out there who are looking for that one "Yes!" amidst an ocean of opposition. All I really know is that I have a heart in my chest, a story to tell, and a voice to sing it with. To find one person who appreciates this from me will be both achieving a dream and the real purpose I see for my music.” Taking his direction from artists such as Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Phil Vassar, Jimmy Wayne and the iconic Eagles, Jimmy hopes to infuse his own style with country’s melody and pop’s tenacity in order to communicate timeless messages of hope, courage, and love to the world. A long-time fan of Sara Evans, Jimmy has taken her advice to heart and is embarking on his musical journey into the world of country music. Jimmy Smith really was “born to fly.”
