Jim Stanson plays “High Octane Roots Rock” using Fender Telecasters and an occasional G&L ASAT through a Mesa Boogie Lone Star Special on the electric side and a Gibson Custom Shop J-45 for acoustic. “Heart Full of Fire” was released in 2007, sold fairly well and received all kinds of reviews. The record features Gurf Morlix, Jim Weider, “Scrappy” Jud Newcomb and Kurt Johnston. I got to know these wonderful human beings and fantastic musicians through my travels. While I was recording the record, my guitar player bailed (I guess there was some kind of personality conflict with engineers and producers) so I needed some players. I found the courage to ask these guys and they said yes. When one door closes….lucky for me, a few more opened up. It was an awesome experience. If you would like to classify the music in a specific genre, the best I can do is: High Octane Roots Rock=Americana+Alt-Country+Rock+Blues+Roots+Folk…. in equal parts, proportionate to the needs of the song. Thanks for taking the time to listen. Hope you enjoy.
