John Rodriquez is an Australian Musician, living in Brisbane has just released a new CD called “Sing For Joy”. It is a compilation of highly motivating and uplifting songs that are easy to learn and instill great confidence in people to sing. Weaving through positive affirmations and simple mantras, listeners are taken on a beautiful journey through sound and song to celebrate their voice. The production was arranged and recorded with Mt Tambourine musician, Brian Sutton of Music & Lyrics Studio. The production of this CD has received financial assistance through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), which is a Queensland Government and Logan City Council partnership to support local arts and culture. Early feedback on the new CD has been highly complimentary with listeners commenting “Awesome sound, wonderful CD.” “Congratulations! Your music expresses the love you have within you. I admire you for who you are and what you do." "I love what you have achieved. Brilliant mate, just brilliant!!!” Copies of the CD are available from http://singchronicity.net or by phoning 0413 383 159. Currently John facilitates workshops at corporate events, festivals, and private retreats. He has conducted many public workshops at The Relaxation Centre in Brisbane, helping others discover the joy of singing by finding their true inner voice. In corporate workshops John uses sound and song to help break down barriers and to unite groups of people. Whilst classically trained in piano, his favourite musical instrument is the voice. John says that anyone who can talk can sing! He is a prolific songwriter with a passion spreading joy through sound and song. John began his mission to spread joy through conducting workshops. Noticing how self-conscious many people are about their voice, he decided to do something about it. He started his own business, calling it “Singchronicity”, to highlight the cause and effect relationship between sound, song and healing at the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. He began writing a collection of simple mantras and affirmations for people to learn and has used these with great success in his workshops. Workshop participants rave about the amazing effects of such simple processes and easy to learn songs: “We did Sing For Joy! Amazingly united in voice & spirit in such a brief time. – A simple step to solve complex problems. There should be more of it!”. "This is the first time I have felt well in six weeks!" “Lots of positive energy generated with fun and laughter". As a result of this feedback, the concept of producing this CD was born. John’s early work focused on social justice issues, particularly along reconciliation themes, with “Sorry” being aired on 4 Triple A (98.9FM) Murri Country radio on National Sorry Day. He has also produced and directed a concert, “Many People, One Voice – A Spotlight on Human Rights” which was staged at the Logan Entertainment Centre in Brisbane. In 2003 John’s composition “The Traveller” (a song about trusting your spirit) won 3rd place at the Redlands Festival. In December 2007, his song “LOVE” was awarded Runner Up, International Song of the Year. People like Chris James, Mikal Neilsen and Dick Rigby, have inspired John’s work and he has sharpened his facilitation skills with the help of Brian Martin.
