Jonathan 'Videri' Evans - A northwest pianist and composer, has been playing piano for over fifty years and composing for forty of those years. Jonathan's musical background stems from a variety of sources. Standards, jazz, classical impressionism, with an emphasis on fluidity and dynamics, influence his composing and performance style. Although Jonathan is virtually self-taught, one detects these influences in his collection of work. Jonathan is returning to the musical community now after an eighteen-year sabbatical during which he explored the depths of his creative self. He also was the primary caregiver for his ailing mother (cancer) during this time and became well-acquainted with issues of life and our fragile mortality. He realized that there is so much variety in this world and so little time to express it artistically. His return is heralded by the creation of a unique venue to present his music entitled Rem Street; a stage where he presents his compositions in an allegorical setting to complement the pieces he has chosen to present in accordance with the style of music represented. A website is currently being designed to accommodate his large body of works, which now range from solo acoustic piano pieces (new age) to mechanical soundscapes intended to capture the ambient sound of our eclectic world. While the website is being conceptualized, Jonathan is reviewing all his recorded material, both acoustic and electronic, and categorically sorting them for presentation. This will result in a library of original compositions that will stretch the definition of versatility. Please have patience in waiting for Jonathan's URL to be presented to the public. It will be a window with a view of Rem Street in all its varied shapes, forms and concepts. Thank you for your time. Meanwhile, look for a rough cut video of Jonathan performing his improvisational composition "without words" from his upcoming album "VIDERI ON REM STREET TAKE ONE" on Google Video and on YouTube (other venues to follow soon).
