Straight out the Gump is Alabama's very own, Peezy Blazin. He was born on 10-25-89 to Rosalene Holifield. He started rapping at the tender age of 10. Since he first started rapping his dreams were to become the first indie artist (46 Bound Ent) to put Alabama on the map with his very own style of hip-hop. Now, he has the chance to overcome obstacles that he faced in his past, despite encounters with law. "I used to live in Tuskegee 7 years," says Joseph "Peezy Blazin" Hilliard. "After I moved away from the people that I basically grew up around I found myself more interested in music as a teen. Now, at the age of 20, I feel as if the game has more to offer than it did when I was a teen." He recites that his influences were Dirty Boyz, The Last Mr. Biggz, and even Montgomery's own, Killa Katt. "They were a big part of my decision to pursue rapping 'till this day," says Peezy. Coming up as a child, he always had a difficult time in spending time with his mother. "'Till this day, I won't say that I regret it, but seeing my mother do the shit that she did, I find it hard to look at her and know that she's capable of runnin' away, and it's hard to cope with and look up to somebody with a drug addiction. Not sayin that I use that against her, but it's hard to love somebody that was hardly there, and now that they're there, it's difficult to look in somebody's face and see whether or not that they're there for you, or something else." He doesn't speak highly of his past, but amongst the people in his past, he tells Ozone Magazine that he alwayz looked up to his cousin William "Big Wilbo" McKithen. Now that he has surfaced the platform of the rapping industry, he plans to give the game something in return to the love and support of his team (Team 46 Bound), his fans, his family, and his admirers a "New Southern" style of music he entitles "G-Style". G-Style consists of longer verses, and more of his lifestyle bearing hooks that he considers to be meaningful and effective to southern hip-hop. "I'm in here with two feet down and two eyes up! Now it's time to make something of my own swagger, and give the South a new look."
