Biography
The Mangos were formed in 1983 on the heels of the legendary Southern Cross Band. Headed by singer/songwriter/guitarist Joe Prewitt, the Mangos have been a fixture of the Jersey Shore music scene for generations. Once the youngest paid studio musician in Nashville, Joe has played or shared billing with such performers as Verne Gosdin, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, .38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and countless others. Enjoying mostly southern rock, Joe's band covers many genres of music.
