Josiah Atchley is a nineteen year old, singer/songwriter based out of knoxville Tn. Josiah plays an acoustic coffee shop style, with unique rythms and picking patterns. Though he mainly writes relational/love songs, there will be an occasional suprise song that will be on any number of topics, like; "Don't Understand" which is a song displaying his belief that abortion is wrong in an artistic fashion. Or you have the song; "Don't Wait" which is a cry for people too speak out to their friends when they feel they're going the wrong way. Josiah tries too keep some diversity in his lyrical topics, but in the end, he takes after the likes of his influences and writes on the girl.History: Josiah began being drawn too music by his father, a small church pastor, who played the drums and guitar for the church. At the age of eight Josiah decided to learn the drums, it wasn't long after that he and his friend (Now supporting guitarist) Matthew Kear began playing for the church, Josiah on the drums, and Matthew on the keys, at the age of eight! Together Josiah and Matthew then followed after music down many paths, at around fourteen, they discovered classic rock. So, of course, they both switched instruments and picked up the electric guitar, focusing on lead of course, besides, that's what the girls liked right? Over the next couple of years they played the electric in their church's worship team, growing in talent ever so slowly, getting used too playing in front of people, and trying too start numerous little rock bands, which never got past three people anda couple practices. At about sixteen, Josiah was exposed too a new world by his older sister Sarah, the world of Folk/Rock and different Alternative and/or Pop artists such as: John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Coldplay, and many other similar artists. Very quickly Josiah began being drawn away from the electric rock styles, too the acoustic Singer/Songwriter, soon after he wrote his first song, "Don't wait" followed quickly by his early works of "Simple Love" and "Save Me", though these songs were simple, too him and Matthew, it opened up a whole new world of possibilities. Soon people began too notice that Josiah had a talent for writing music and lyrics, and encourage him. As tome went on Josiah grew in his talents, he began too write better songs, and his voice began too grow stronger. Finally, 24 songs later, he finally decided too branch out from the bedroom and hit the streets with his music, playing at open mics, and taking gigs where he can get them, regardless the pay, he hasn't looked back since.
