Although born in Arizona, JAV was raised in the state of Ohio where he attended public school. JAV excelled academically all throughout his years in school. He graduated at the top of his class, completing high school with an “A” average. JAV was presented with numerous college scholarships and awards, but chose to pursue his passion, music. JAV studied classical piano from age 7 to age 18 and also sang in his local church choir during that time.
His academic and music background, have cultivated his unique style of blending “conscious” lyrics, to what he calls “complex melodies”, while addressing life issues and also staying true to the times. Just A Vessel specializes in Rap, Hip Hop, and Alternative music. Currently, Just A Vessel feels compelled to address the harsh realities around gangs, genocide and moral ethics.
