Who is Kara Claudy? Though she considers herself a Hoosier, Kara was actually born in Twenty-Nine Palms, California to an American father and Korean mother. As a Marine Corps brat, Kara moved with her family to Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; Aurora, Colorado; Okinawa, Japan; and finally, Angola, Indiana. Who is Kara Claudy? Though she considers herself a Hoosier, Kara was actually born in Twenty-Nine Palms, California to an American father and Korean mother. As a Marine Corps brat, Kara moved with her family to Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; Aurora, Colorado; Okinawa, Japan; and finally, Angola, Indiana. At the age of seven, Kara began piano lessons that continued for nine years. At the age of fourteen, she taught herself guitar. After moving to boarding school her junior year of high school, Kara began writing her own songs, drawing from her musical training and years of choir experience both at church and school. At her classmates encouragement, she organized a guitar club, putting together open mic nights for the academic community. Her senior year of high school, Kara's classmates chose her song, "Thursday," as their class song. After graduating from high school, Kara continued to play local shows in northern Indiana, before moving to Atlanta, Georgia to attend college. As a student, she continues to write, record, and perform her music.
