My name is Karlisha Monday. I am an aspiring singer and songwriter. My music is sort of a cross between electonica and alternative. I'm like a Sarah McLaughlin meets Alanis Morrisette! I have been singing semi-professionally since I was 11 with a southern gospel group. We traveled in a bus 300 days a year singing in churches, concerts, etc. I have studied vocal techniques under renowned singer Jerry Monday and wrote my very first song when I was 13. During my childhood, I acted in many stage productions, as well. At 17, I left the band and went to Jacksonville, FL where I went to college and traveled with the singing and acting Drama Team. In 1994, I won Jacksonville singer of the year and went to state and in 1995 I judged the contest. In 1994 I founded my first band called Jane Doe, with a few performances around Jacksonville. I was the lead vocalist and songwriter. In, 1996, I won a poetry contest nationally. And as part of solo gigs and my band I have performed at countless dances, clubs, celebrations, bars, restaurants, and even a prison! In 2001, I began created, choreographer, singing and dancing in a show at a local club in Jacksonville. Many reviews would describe it as a mini Las Vegas show. In 2002, myself and a friend of mine decided to open a club where I was the creator of the entire "thing". Right now I am just writing songs and promoted my demo, which I hope soon you, will all be able to hear!
