Katrina was born just south of Buffalo, NY, where she first performed publicly at the age of five. When she was ten, her family moved to her father's home state, West Virginia. There, she toured with a gospel group, The Kings Ambassadors, for five years before forming a Contemporary Christian trio with her sisters. They included a few of Katrina's originals in their performances and sang together until marriage and geography no longer allowed. Kat then moved on to rock and roll fronting local bands, Alias and Roze Tapestry. After singing and playing in churches, stage productions, and rock bands, Katrina moved to California to begin the journey she is still on as a singer/songwriter. She spent a few years there building a loyal fan base and becoming a local favorite. After California, she relocated to Asheville, NC where she quickly gained a faithful group of listeners. During a stint with local touring band, Primitive Future, she played the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and was invited to be lead vocalist at an all-star jam in Jacksonville, FL featuring members of 38 Special and Lynard Skynard. Not long before the new millenium, Kat returned to West Virginia where she continues to work hard and grow as a songwriter. She has independently released three cds: “Counting,” “Observations,” and, most recently, “Fabulous Thing” which is receiving air-play in Germany, the UK, several internet radio stations, and American radio markets that promote independent music. Katrina's music refuses to be categorized. It is folk infused with rock, pop, jazz, country, blues, and an attitude that it is perfectly normal to combine the entire lot of them. Her lyrics are engaging, wonderfully original, smart, poignant, sometimes hilarious, and always memorable.
