And if they do possess these qualities many fail to deliver strong lyrical content and songwriting ability. K. Crump possesses all of the aforementioned qualities and many more… K. Crump tells his life story through rhythmic, lyrical wordplay and expresses who he is with a raw sense of fashion that is compiled of urban street wear, classic sleekness, and modern structure. Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Crump was exposed to hip-hop music at a young age of 5. He took pride in watching his uncle and older cousins record on a 4-track tape recorder in their grandmother’s basement. It was inevitable that Kenneth would soon partake in those same musical activities. While developing his composition skills, friends and other family quickly took notice of his ability to freestyle. These rhymes were clever and at times sounded better than the average MC’s written lyrics. While attending David Mackenzie High School, Crump earned a name for himself by crushing competitors in various freestyle battles and talent show competitions. Upon graduating High School, Kenneth attended the esteemed Tuskegee University in historic Tuskegee, Alabama. At least 800 miles away from home Crump’s, mother feared that he would lose focus on school and spend all his time on music. Kenneth assured his mother that he could balance both lifestyles. While in college Crump studied Construction Science and Management, meanwhile the majority of his “hammering and nailing” came from competitions and freestyle battles in Tuskegee and other locations throughout the south. The most notable being the BET Black College Tour Freestyle Competition in which he easily earned top honors three consecutive years. Crump soon developed a massive following of Tuskegee students, alumni, and other fans in various locations of the south. Like most MC’s, they come with and entourage. Crump along with now Tuskegee University graduates formed Street Team Affiliates with an alternate meaning Speak To All (S.T.A.) an independent brand they can call their own. S. T. A. plans to spread his music and other expressions throughout the world by paying dues, eclectic marketing strategies, elite business savvy, and of course a quality product. Crump is humble enough to stay hungry and strive for more. His drive and determination to perfect the craft he does Oh so well will only lead him to the top in the music industry. K. Crump is a rare breed of a seasoned MC and an educated young black male who has a bright future ahead of him. With a strong arsenal of songwriting, free-styling, and show-stopping live performances Crump will be the FUTURE OF HIP-HOP!!!
