Hey, my name is Kelsey! I am your normal 17 year old facing my senior year at Canyon Creek Christian Academy. My life revolves around church, school and friends.
My life has been blessed in many different ways -- including the talent I was given in music (singer/songwriter). Most of the time, people ask where my inspiration comes from. But really, my story is how the inspiration started.
In 8th grade, a fellow classmate and close family friend committed suicide. That was my first close encounter with death and it made me think about my own life. At about that same time, I had really started to get into the lyrics of songs. It's difficult for me to express what I'm feeling or what I want to say in normal conversation, but I can put it in my lyrics. I found that songwriting helped me open up and let go of what I couldn't put in normal words. All of this helped me with my friend's death.
My songwriting helps me express everything inside of me. So when you get me -- you get all of me!
WOW, this past year was amazing and gone in the blink of an eye!! This past summer, I had the opportunity to tour with Lift Student Ministries, which included a trip to Wales in the UK. I recorded a song, "Perfectly Imperfect", which was the theme song for the MADE Tour/Camp. What an awesome fun filled tour - making new friends, sharing my music and sharing my faith. I grew in every aspect of my life.
