The Kendra Gale Band If you happen upon The Kendra Gale Band in a crowded venue, you might ask yourself…who are these two converse wearing folk hanging out near the bar? Don't let the pleasant shyness of singer songwriter Kendra Gale and drummer Jordan Grant mislead you. As soon as they take the stage they are capable of packing quite a punch. (Naturally after they knock you over with their incredible rock music, they will probably come over and pick you up, dust you off…and heck probably give you a hug. They're just that nice.) The KGB has only been a band for about a year. St. Andrews native and singer songwriter Kendra Gale began playing music with drummer Jordan Grant when they started a band with local teacher called The Broken Flowers. Kendra and Jordan soon found their interests matched up perfectly and that they worked well as a duo…Jordan bringing his talented musicianship and his ear for what works, and Kendra her power, both in her voice and the songs she crafts. Kendra's genius lies in the way she can stand her own whether she's leading a small jam circle at the local pub, or taking charge onstage at a packed venue. Her powerful pipes and unique style make every song she belts out her own, from covering fellow female rock leads like Grace Potter or pop stars like Rihanna and Britney Spears . But her stand out performances are always the ones she crafts herself, drawing so deep into her personal experiences that you can't help but feel them in your bones. Kendra wrote her first song, 'Second Thought' when she was 13, a year after picking up the guitar. While both members of the band play guitar and drums, and often switch back and forth during the live show.  Though he'd never brag about it, on The KGB's album he plays guitar, drums, and bass, not to mention the fact that he recorded and mixed the new material. The Kendra Gale Band played last year's ECMA's as a trio but in their short time as a two piece they have been making quite an impression around New Brunswick and the Maritimes. Some highlights include a spot at Music New Brunswick Week and playing a headlining show at the Red Herring Pub in St. Andrews, many summer festivals, Galaxie Rising Star competition at the 2012 Fredericton Harvest Jazz and Blue Festival and most recently 2 nominations for this years 2012 Music New Brunswick awards being held in Moncton. And with release of their new album, the pair show no sign of slowing down. On the new cd the rock music is a bit heavier and more self assured, and Kendra's lyrics have grown up right along with her. They have found their sound and it sounds good. In 'Many Names' a new track off the album Kendra belts out "Theres no telling what she'll do or where she'll end up". Well, if the song is any indication, it's clear where The KGB is going to end up…on your mind and in your playlists very soon.          CONTACT jgale@nbnet.nb.ca or www.reverbnation.com/kendragale
