"East coast kid living way out west..." Born Dante Dumas $mall Money grew up on the east coast but was on the move at an early age due to a military father. The roaming nomad discovered his talent in high school during lunchtime freestyles. “$malls” learned the ropes of the game and quickly became a local favorite. He teamed up with three classmates and formed “The Black Plague.” performing at local hot spots. In 2001 he landed in San Diego CA. $mall Money hooked up with a small time producer Billy “Cash” Franklin and resumed his music career writing songs like “3 Steps Forward” and “American Dream.” But his dream would once again be put on hold when he suffered a broken jaw in local bar fight. In 2004 the kid was on the move again and much like Kanye West, a near fatal car accident tried to take his life but the Grimm Reaper failed. "I'M HERE FOR A REASON!" Representing the land of the lost towers $mall Money is ready and eager to bring you his best. Back in the Golden State he is back in business. The energizing wildcard of a San Diego local group “HomeGrown” you just never know what to expect from the kid with the Yankee fitted and a smile. Now working on his debut album "Two Sides II Every Story" he depicts life from many different angles. From heated joints like “Tired” to his more personal “First Lady” there is something here for everyone. “I want people to relate to my music and feel what I’ve been through…because they’ve been through the same thing.”
