Born in Miami, Fl but soon after she was born her father joined the military and the family moved to Europe and they began traveling several parts of world. Lashawna developed a passion for music at a young age. Some of her influences are Mary J Blige, Whitney Houston, and Alicia Key‘s. At the tender age of 6 she began competing in school and local talent shows. She would always be the entertainment at family gatherings, and other social events. Lashawna graduated from Mitchell High in Colorado. In March 1997 after her father retired from the military the family moved to Saint Petersburg, Fl to be closer to her mothers family. In 1997 she met Rudolph Hammond and a year later the two were married on May 15th 1998. In May after working as a Licensed Realtor and Accounts payable clerk for the Pinellas County area. Lashawna and her husband moved to California to further pursue her singing career. Since moving to California Lashawna has been performing at several venues all over the California area. Lashawna has performed at Cinespace R&B Live Hollywood, Celebrity Centre, The Queen Mary Ship in Long Beach , on Alex Lam’s campaign for city councilman in Stanton Ca, the Warehouse Restaurant, and the opening singer for motivational speaker Lisa Nichols from the documentary THE SECRET just to name a few. You can also find Lashawna on the cover of the book Sula, a Nobel prize winner in literature written by Toni Morrison. Lashawna has been working on her debut album Impossible or Possible. Her songs can be found on CD Bady, itunes, Amazon ect. She is currently staring in a play called We Did It For You, written by Thea Iberall and endorsed by Academy Award Winner, CEO of ASCAP Paul Williams. Lashawna portrays the late Sojourner Truth in the play. Her hard work and dedication has gotten her thus far.
