First of all i would just like to say thank you to my mother for all the support she has givin me through the years. My mom was nineteen when she had me and after my father left when I was only three months old it was just the two of us. I started singing at the age of 5 or 6. Somewhere around there. At least thats what I know from our small collection of home video. My real love for music didn't come until I was 13 though. I remember distinctly listening to my uncle Rob's mixed cd which had a taste of 2pac, boys 2 men, and mc hammer. lol.. At least thats who I wanted listen to over and over again. I never had many instruments around me as a kid but I was always singing and performing something to someone. Guess thats why I became a singer.***************************************************** I started by singing in my church gospel choir at age 16. Three years later I was leading the worship band. I figured if I could do that maybe I should lead my own band. So at the age of 19 I put together what was known as "The Edison Show". We made a record out of the drummer's studio which he had set up in his g/f's house. It took us three whole weeks to put together the album from scratch which isn't that long but we had to finish before he went to LA for Christmas. The record turned out great and I learned so much from all the amazing studios/people. After almost a year of slow touring up and down the beautiful California coast line I decided to leave the group. Management wasn't living up it's word and music was not getting recorded on time. I needed to start something else that would expand everything that I have ever known as a musician. So in the summer of 2004 I started another band called "Van Pepper". We were a blend of "Van Halen" and "The Red Hot Chili Peppers". Two of my most favorite bands in the world. We were located in Austin, TX which wasn't so far away from home. My family lives in Houston, TX so the three hour trip wasn't to bad. We had our fun and our not so much fun moments but we always made great music together. ************************************************* Seven months in Austin was all it took for me know know it was time. Time to break away from the band scene for a wile and write the music I had been hearing in my head and feeling in my soul. I was lucky enough to have made a great friend and an amazing musician through my last two bands, Benjamin Randall (bass player/song writter). Shortly after saving money for a solo record I flew out to Burbank, CA where i met my bad ass producer who i am currently working with (Jeremy Penick). We just finished my demo project and it's time for 2007 to show me what it's got. Thank you to all my friends and familly for the support. Enjoy~MK
