Biography

I grew up in Baltimore Maryland listening to, studying and playing music since I was about eight years old. I started with the trumpet in elementary school, then turned to guitar and drums shortly thereafter and eventually ended up solely playing the guitar. I performed in concert, Jazz and Marching bands through high school. My parents turned me on to everything from the Beatles to the Mavericks. I've always enjoyed a wide variety of music and have never been known to play just one style. My influences include Led Zeppelin, Rush, Sting, Johnny A, John Mayer, Raul Malo and many more. I've been playing in bars/clubs since I was 17 both solo acoustic and with different bands in and around Baltimore and Annapolis. I currently live in Richmond, Va with my wife Melissa and three dogs. In real life, I am a heating and air conditioning service technician. (I'm sure you can guess what I want to do for a living.) If I had to describe my music, I would have to say that it's a little bit of everything. I know that may sound a bit cliche, but it's true. I like classic rock, modern rock, country and jazz. I've met a lot of people who only like one particular genre and that's fine. It's just not for me. I like what I like and there's no denying it. I believe that shows in my writing, albeit I am a rookie in that arena. The melodies have always been there for me, but not the lyrics. I would have to say that my focus on creating structuralized arrangements has only developed over the last five or six years. I'm always open to constructive criticism and hope to improve my capacity as a song writer. A bad example of constructive criticism would be yelling "you suck" at one of my gigs. That hasn't happened as of yet. If it did I'd assume alcohol played a factor in the heckling and I'd just laugh it off but I'd still go back to the drawing board with some ammunition to light the creative fire we all hope never burns out. I hope you enjoy my music and please leave comments about what you did or didn't like about it. (Please be gentile, it's my first time:) Lee
