Rap music now consists of people from all walks of life, and all regions of the world. However, when it comes to the city of Palm Springs, CA, there has been no MC yet to put that city in the minds of the Hip Hop community, until now. The MC looking to help Palm Springs become a force in rap music is the 21-year-old Lil’ Mickey. Born on January 26th, 1987 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Lil’ Mickey became inspired to rap in early 2000. He cites a variety of rappers who inspired him to get into rap music, ranging from the late Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G. and Eazy-E, to Latin rap pioneers Mr. Shadow, Lil’ Rob and Brownside. His hustle threw the streets & trouble in the streets was what got him to rap aggressivly & is the reson why he raps about the streets. He first started getting respect for his rapping abilities via many battles throughout the various high schools in Palm Springs. In 2003, Lil’ Mickey released his first mixtape called Lil Tru Boy and sold enough copies of that mixtape until he was able to buy his own recording studio in 2004. In 2005, Lil’ Mickey dropped his 2nd mixtape No More To Say, and just before releasing his 3rd mixtape called Don’t Talk About It, Be About It, he also founded his record label All Out Sounds with his business partner Joker in early 2006. In 2005 Lil Mickey got deep in the streests running around in Palm Springs & got his respect & street creidbility to show his realness. In 2007, Lil’ Mickey pushed two mixtapes, The Desert Heat and Lethal Weapon (the latter which is available for free download on his MySpace page, www.myspace.com/alloutplayers and www.alloutsounds.com). While doing all this, Lil’ Mickey was also balancing an education at the Musician’s Institute in the Music Business Program, looking to improve his already great promotional skills. Now in 2008 Lil’ Mickey is looking to release his upcoming 6th & 7th mixtape Every man 4 him slef & The desert heat 2 and untitled debut album later this year. Lil’ Mickey is looking to bring that Desert Heat to the main stage!
