Lily Vasquez is an actress, singer, composer and professional salsa dancer. She has been preparing for a career in the entertainment industry her whole life, first performing when she was 4 years old in Colombia as a singer and folkloric dancer.
Since her arrival to the United States in 1990, Lily has sung and danced in countless parades, festivals and other popular events. Lily has also matured as a composer, developing a unique style by interpreting with versatility different genres, combining styles that have influenced her like Pop, Rock, Bolero, Salsa and others.
In 2008, Lily Vasquez linked up with sellaband.com, a revolutionary concept in the music market which earned her global recognition. In only 9 months, Lily became the first Hispanic artist to collect $50,000 from fans and music lovers to record her last Latin Pop/Rock musical production “Pasión de Mujer”, available in all digital stores such as iTunes, CdBaby, Amazon, EMusic, among others. This production separates her from the bachata style of her first CD recorded in 2006 that she says “opened doors in the industry.”
In early 2009 Lily won the billboard song world contest for the single Pasion de Mujer. She then decided to continue producing music as an independent artist and after experimenting with new music styles, she is ready to release two new singles end of March, 2010. The first single called “Nunca Dejes De Hacerme El Amor” breaks her ‘lovely” image which was given to her by her beloved fans to a more “sexy/dearing” artist. The video for this single will also be releasing end of March along with the song to showcase her transformation. The second single “Me Marcho De Aqui” is her signature style of an edgy rock/pop feel. Both singles will be available in itunes.
Lily Vasquez is also known for her charisma, performance and physical presence every time she stands out as a presenter at festivals in the N.Y. Tri-State area. Her experience as a performer includes festivals and open mics in different areas of New York/ New Jersey (2001-2010), Spain (2009), Amsterdam (2007), the Salsa congress (2004), Italy Tour (2002,2003,2004), Japan (2002-2005), Guam Tour (2003) and appearances on international television and radio programs like Telemundo, Univision, Channel 11 News (NY), CNBC News, Radio Caracol (Colombia), Radio RCN (Colombia), among others.
