About Liz Rognes
Spokane, WA
Liz Rognes is a singer/songwriter and multi-genre artist based in Saint Paul or Spokane, depending on how you measure her time. She grew up in rural Iowa, surrounded by cornfields, prairie, and her father’s eccentric love for miniature animals. Santa brought her a piano at the age of two, and she has been playing ever since. Classically trained as a soprano, she started writing and singing folk songs in college and fell in love with the idea of singing about her trouble. She regularly sings her heart out for measly tips, so once in a while she buys a lottery ticket, just in case. She has a B.A. in Music, 2005, and is currently working on an MFA in creative writing in Spokane, WA. Liz is often joined by her handsome, mop-headed cellist, producer, and founder of Deep Sea Productions, Dan Zamzow. Dan and Liz recently released their first album, Red Flags (Deep Sea Productions, Minneapolis, 2009).
