Sugarduece was born Elizabeth Amber Cohen on December 26, 1986 in Miami, Florida. First time rapping was at the age of 7 years old on the Big Lip Bandit show on 99 Jams “The Cypher” with Kid Capri and Busta Ryhmes, that was the day I knew I wanting to pursue my music career .”Music is the rythem of my heartbeat and as long my heart keeps beating I’m going to live for music”. At the age of 11 years old I was awarded first place for the Theodore Gibson’s originality poetry contest for my poem “Cornbread and Collar greens” an African descent poem based on slavery. At the age of 13 years old start songwriting for many local Independent artists and classmates at school. Attendant Miami Central Senior High School was voted most popular for my music and many other talents. Always had the “crowd” pack and ready for my freestyles at school every day on and off stage. Always had the crowd hype every morning before I go to class. The people who inspired me and motivated me for me keep pushing my music career is songwriter and producer Mr. Bryant Michael Cox, Timberland, Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat, Missy Elliott, Paramore, Gym Class Hero’s, P Diddy, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Weeknd, Black Eye Pea’s, Macklemore, Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Swiss Beats, Busta Rhymes, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Chance the rapper, Asap Rocky, Drake, and Lady Gaga. Those artists motivated me not to be afraid of my music, my art don’t worry about being so different, different is good.
