LOST THEORY REDEFINES HIP HOP AND DANCE MUSIC WITH THERE AFTER HOURS E.P! Southern California’s Lost Theory releases a seven song high energy E.P, one of those rare projects where every song sounds like a single. Lost Theory is a high energy Hip-Hop group consisting of two MC’s Stan Doubt and C-Cubed. The After Hours E.P will be available on Itunes April 5th through Expat-Records. Producer/Rapper Stan Doubt had a vision to create an album that would be exciting to perform on large stages. The result is an electric combination of bass pounding Hip-Hop infused with Pop-Synth beats. Although Lost Theory is a truly unique group, they have drawn comparisons to The Black Eyed Peas, The Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill, and Swollen Members. Blending elements of underground Hip-Hop and dance pounding beats Lost Theory can easily appeal to real Hip Hop heads and club goers as well. In this Ipod nation where people have both Jay-Z and dubstep tracks on their playlist, Lost Theory prides themselves in bridging the gap. Lost Theory has played everywhere from Cruise Ships to the House of Blues, Hollywood perfecting their stage show. After shuffling through two other members and many other collaborators, Stan Doubt and C-Cubed decided they are best as a duo although they have great working relationships with other artists. They’re talent and love for collaboration has currently set them on a genre blending West Coast Tour with Columbia Pop Recording Artist Abby Cubey, as well as a talented Rock Band Edge of Paradise. They often mix their sets together providing the audience with an exciting live show blending Hip-Hop, Pop, and Rock. This unique show caught the attention of Hollywood and now Lost Theory is a subject of a documentary likely to air on HBO. On their first project After Hours, a seven song E.P, they also receive assistance from long time collaborator, rapper Illso who appears on five of the seven songs. Illso meshes well with the duo adding some lay back California flavor, to C-Cubed’s gritty style and Stan Doubt’s precise and powerful flow. What makes Lost Theory special is not only do they provide the kind of beats that club DJ’s day-dream about, but they also somehow are able to do it with soul. Although, the central theme of the After Hours E.P is to party till the sun comes up, they also encourage listeners to “keep their eye on the prize” and promise that “hard work pays off” even if it has been a “long walk” to notoriety for this duo.
