CLICK HERE TO WATCH TRAV OPEN FOR PEARL JAM AT VIRGIN FEST Lounge Pistol Biography January 29th, 2010 Written from the bullet that travelled from the best to the worst that life has to offer, Lounge Pistol is the solo project of the front man of Joshuas Habit, Travis Pankiw (Pan-Q). Travis was born in the heartland of the bitter cold Canadian prairies with a fiery passion to write, sing, play and perform. The new 10 song self-titled album tells a distinct story of life’s past experiences and personal views on the world. 10 songs in 10 days of January, the album was recorded at a feverish pace with some of the best talent that Canada has to offer. With a fire in his belly and a hunger to perform, Lounge Pistol is a project Travis is poised to expose to the world with relentless pride and drive to succeed like never before. Pankiw’s professional music career took off when he found his spiritual home of Calgary. He had a short stint as the front man of the touring Rock Blues cover band `Tightrope’ and soon to follow was his first original act, Joshuas Habit. `The Habit’ grew to become one of the most successful Western Canadian Independent rock bands of all time. The band recorded five albums over 8 years and toured the entire nation relentlessly. They had the great honor to share the stage with some amazing acts such as Pearl Jam, Billy Talent, The Trews, Drowning Pool, Gob, State of Shock, and Collective Soul. Travis was the principle songwriter of successful commercial rock radio songs such as `Flipside’, `Out of my Hands’, `Whiskey and Women’ (Top 50 on Canadian Mediabase Active Rock Chart), and Pointing Fingers (Regional winner of the Canadian National Songwriting Competition). . Travis is proud to present `Lounge Pistol’ and his latest self-titled album, a dynamic project drawn from countless influences such as Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Gin Blossoms, Sublime, and Wil. Emotional yet powerful vocals create an impact-full listening experience. The project was recorded in downtown Saskatoon at the vibe like atmosphere of Starlab Studios and was brought together with the incredible musicianship of Earl Pereira (Mobadass, Wide Mouth Mason) on bass, Graham Templeman (Sparky, Jonny Don’t) on drums, and Brad Taylor (Joshuas Habit) on lead guitar. `Living for Something’ is a truly diverse rock album that keeps your head grooving to the rhythm. Some of the standout tracks on the album are the gritty blues rock track Diein’ for Nothin’, the dark, melodic straight ahead rocker `I’m not Ready’, and the certain radio hit `Shades of Chivalry’. Lounge Pistol has become an opportunity to express in a way never heard before the original writings of Travis Pankiw. With a strong new album, intense stagemanship, and renewed energy, expect to see and hear a lot from Lounge Pistol in 2010 and beyond.
