Her music has been likened to the sounds of Annie Lennox, Janis Joplin, Chrissie Hynde, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Armatrading, Janis Ian, Shawn Colvin, Sheryl Crow, Mary Chapin-Carpenter. Anderson is respected for her electrifying voice and a dynamic guitar style. Her powerful voice is reminiscent of blues legends. Anderson has been a performing songwriter for more than a decade. Anderson’s latest roots-rock recording to be released early in 2010, features legendary violinist, Scarlet Rivera, Michael Jackson’s guitarist, Jennifer Batten and Tony Coleman, drummer for BB King. Also recording with Lynn are bassist Damian Erskine, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Holly Leer, drummer Rob Schnell and guitarist Tim Ellis. World class musicians have offered their support of Anderson’s music by performing and recording with her. Anderson’s 2006 released featured Joe Craven (Jerry Garcia, David Grisman), Kirby Kelley (world class slide player) who recently won Guitar Center’s 2009 “King of the Blues” Contest. Anderson has packed Portland’s Aladdin Theatre three times with raving reviews on commercial radio. In addition to recording, Anderson is currently opening for Tony Coleman & All the King's Men - past and present members of BB King's band. This year Anderson tours solo in California, followed by a stop to perform at BB King's in Nashville in 2010. "And, yes, that big, beautiful voice. Lynn Frances Anderson brings the tone, spirit and soul of Mary Chapin Carpenter, Chrissie Hynde and Etta James all together in one grand package. She certainly knows where her voice is going at all times. Her sound is seasoned, strong, resonant and founded with a heaping-helping of rootsy, blues flavor." - Randy Sanders
