Hi - Thank you for wanting to learn a bit more about me. I hope my songs prove to be a musical oasis for you to rest a bit. With these songs, and many others, I've tried to walk in your shoes; since I do believe that we all give our level best effort to love and live passionately and sincerely, (though the outcome of our effort is not always what we anticipate or hope for) but it is the effort and decision to love that is so rewarding. Please let me know how you feel about my music, and write a few words before you move on. I appreciate your time - we never seem to have enough of it, but thanks for sharing yours with me. ~Macstaq Mortal Shell was launched in the 90s with its primary song-writer and vocalist: Andrew McArthur (rhythm guitar) and talented lead guitarist: James Thurchack; along with the pristine electronics of a Roland MC-80 Micro-composer Sequencer. Since those early years, Mortal Shell has changed line-ups; and is now a name in search of its members; but what has remained unchanged is the focus, and the positive message of Andrew (M.C. Arthur, Mac, Macstaq). He has always composed his songs with passion, patience and sincere reflection. Mortal Shell’s style draws from the haunting echoes of folk to the wailing of electric blues; from the adrenaline rush of rock and roll to the exotic rhythms of jazz. However, the influences drawn upon most are not from other bands, but rather from what we all experience by merely being human: the sheer joy of living, and the need for love. The music, resonates with universal themes of faith, family, and friendship. Their Debut CD: “The One”, adds brilliant color to the daily and often routine interactions of life. It is a breath of musical fresh-air. Throw open your windows and breathe deep. Andrew continues to grow as a writer, vocalist and musician. His latest EP - titled: "Primal Baggage" hearkens back to the seminal emotions and excess baggage we all carry around that effect our outlook on relationships, the ebb & flow of life as well as ideas.
