Pulling in styles and techniques from Blues, Gospel, Country, Folk, Reggae and good ole Rock 'n' Roll, Malachi quotes, "my music and songs are a personal testimony of everyday life and the joys and sorrows it brings... I write my songs as they come to me, never aiming to target a specific genre or sound." Nephew to Canada's Legendary Jazz Guitarist, Sonny Greenwich, (http://www.kleo-records.com/) music is naturally in his blood. Malachi is a multi-intsrumentalist, playing all the instruments on his 2008 debut solo album, "The Basement Sessions," which he also recorded in his home studio. Malachi formed his band, "Malachi & the Music" less than a year ago in the summer of 2008 and they have become an instant hit already playing over 100 venues in less than a year. They just recently opened up for the Legendary Inkspots at Hamilton Place. "Malachi & The Music are a diverse collection of musicians who came together as the perfect compilation. They were a solid unit the entire time. The crowd was enjoying every moment of the band’s roots-reggae-blues-pop-gospel-soul vibe. They have something for every person. They literally do every style of music imaginable and do it well. Their intensity never faltered, they are an interactive band that feels more like an experience more than just a show. Malachi and the music is something I would advise to any person." Shane Mackenzie -LOCALVIBE.CA April 2009 Malachi had started recording his second solo album "Empty Man" but has put that on the back-burner in order to finish a CD with the band. "We're looking to release it this summer, we've got 6 tracks done already and want to do 6 more. Its really hard to find the time though because we're gigging every weekend and we all have dayjobs. Yet we have fans asking us for CD's at every show. So we want to get it done as quickly as possible, but we don't want to cut corners either just for the sake of time. Its really frustrating actually."
