Mallory was born in Melbourne VIC and shortly after moved with her parents to small country town called Mansfield, at the base of a Ski resort called Mount Buller. Spending her high school years in Mansfield as an active member in the small community, featuring in plays and musicals, sporting events and school and local performances she began building a name for herself and captivating her audiences. Throughout her school years she excelled and attended everything she possibly could to build on her craft and ignite her passion for music. In year 10 she was involved in Choir at a prestigious music school in Melbourne and was an active member in the orchestra playing flute and piano. After a few years of gigging in the local area from the age of just 14 she was doing gigs every weekend at local restaurants and pubs. In year 11 she stepped out from behind the piano and led the band Napoleon Plaza playing shows every weekend on the mountain and off. After a year the band split and she began to concentrate more closely on her solo craft. In 2005 she went to Sydney for the top 100 of Australian Idol, just missing out on the top 50. After returning from Sydney she began working on her songwriting and proceeded to write over the course of the next few years. After completing year 12 certificate and taking a year off to travel she began attending Deakin University to study graphic design which she is currently still studying. Moving to Melbourne full time but gigging in Mansfield with a residency at 3 local venues she continued to captivate her audiences with her soothing piano playing and mesmerizing vocals. “Mansfield’s Missy Higgins…” (Sue Crowe, Deck on High) In 2010 she was accepted into the Australian Academy of Country Music which is held in Tamworth. She was one of 21 amazingly talented students that took part in a 2 week intensive workshop to give them the skills that are needed within the industry. She graduated in July. After returning from Tamworth the Genuine country girl continued to excel in her musical path gigging frequently and writing as much as possible. She was asked to be guest judge in a regional talent search where she was to critique the contestants and score them based on their performance. Her songs have the ability to resonate within the listener and manifests itself her lyric and beautiful tone. In 2010 She was part of the well-known Telstra Road to Tamworth where she played both in Geelong and Huon in Tasmania. Just recently she was an artist in the 2011 Mount Beauty Folk Festival in Victoria. Captivating her audiences as the new “up and coming artist in country folk scene…” (Festival/Artistic Director Rollo Kiek). In Early May she was selected as one of the few artist that were being put together for a Benefit Concert in Melbourne for the well known Charity Ride2Rescue, which raises money and awareness for Child Trafficking and Slavery. The debut introduction of her younger sister Lauren creates entirely different feel Mallory’s music. Incorporating Guitar, harmonica and alluring backing vocals pushes these young girls talents to the next level. These two girls have created now a beautifully constructed duo with blended vocals. Mallory’s approach to music and songwriting is refreshing and unique. Now starting to incorporate guitar into her repertoire her craft and performance keeps getting better and better.
