MARC CRUISE: From the time Marc was old enough to walk he was singing and putting on some kind of show in his grandparent’s house in southern Iowa where he was raised. As Marc grew older his style of music changed from old country to rock ‘n’ roll such as Billy Joel, KISS, Huey Lewis and The News, Journey, Poison, and other rising rock artists. Then when Garth Brooks emerged on the country scene, Marc realized that you could take a country show and give it the energy that a rock show emits. Garth influenced Marc in many ways, such as giving people more than they expect at a live show. In every show, Marc leaves everything on the stage. Also, making that person the farthest away from the stage feel like that person right up front. With every show Marc works to connect with every person in the crowd somehow. These traits quickly became the backbone of Marc’s performances. In 1999, Marc put together the “skeleton” of a new tribute to country music show that he wanted to bring to fairs and festivals in the Midwest. After a year of planning, he rolled out the Marc Cruise Rockin Tribute To Country Music Show at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, Iowa. The reception was overwhelming. The show consisted of new country, old country, and some popular rock ‘n’ roll all combined into a 75 minute show. This show took off like a bullet. In a few short years, Marc’s tribute show became one of the most requested tribute shows across the country with fairs and festivals. Many buyers bought the show because of the diverse set list and ability to appeal to all ages, the high energy that Marc brings to the stage, the connection he has with the crowd, and finally his appreciation of the fans he shows first hand. After opening for the Honky Tonk Tailgate Tour in central Iowa years ago, Marc stood in the heat and signed autographs and took pictures for 4 ½ hours again giving back to those who made the show. In 2005, Marc started writing and adding his original songs to the show in an acoustic set each night. The reviews skyrocketed and attendance grew leaps and bounds. Marc writes about things everyone can relate to as his music is very honest when it comes to happiness, heartbreak, and struggles in life. There now is something for everyone in his show. Marc suddenly became known as the “Garth Brooks” of the tribute show world because of his realness, appreciation and energy he gives every time he takes the stage. As Marc says, “without the great music, the show has nothing to perform, without the buyers, we can’t bring a show to your town, and most of all, without the fans, there is never a crowd to perform to, so thank you to EVERYONE for what you that allows me to do what I passionately enjoy doing.” Marc doesn’t stop there. When possible and available he is right in the trenches with the buyer to ensure that each show is a success. Marc will do what’s needed to help promote the show. Media outlets have proven to be a great benefit. The media has a natural draw to Marc and they absolutely love him and he makes all the interviews fun, energetic, and exciting. He takes so much pride in his show that he makes the extra effort to ensure each event and show is a success. You get more than an entertainer with Marc; you get a fully fledged partner. He is a record labels dream. He can and will put an event on the map and a label on the charts. There is no doubt about that based on his past history of success.
