Already Mariah has amassed an uncompromising and diverse collection of music, each song not passing by merely as something to be listened to, but demanding to be something more, something one must feel to fully appreciate. The surreal and poetic "Our Town," which appears on the surface to have such a lucid message, has an underlying sentiment that it may impart to the listener an intimate look at how Mariah sees the world around her.
