About Mark Kano

Greensboro, NC

Mark Kano is the former lead vocalist and guitarist for the alternative rock band Athenaeum, who released two albums on Atlantic Records in 1998 and 2001 respectively. Athenaeum's "Radiance" was hailed by the late Billboard Magazine editor Timothy White as one of 1998's best albums, and produced the top ten modern rock hit "What I Didn't Know", written by Kano. These days the Asian American singer-songwriter is pursuing a solo career and enjoying life as a husband and father in his hometown of Greensboro, NC. In February of 2009, Kano independently released his self-produced solo debut "Walking On Broadway" to rave reviews and is currently playing shows in the southeast.
