My name is Mark Pires, I’m a Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist from Connecticut. I have written over eighty original songs.In the summer of 2001, I showcased my music by competing in the IndieBob Music Festival. Against 24 other unsigned artists from Connecticut and Metro New York. I was thrilled to win this competition which was to afford me and my band a distribution deal and a college tour - I was thrilled my career was about to take off. Unfortunately, the terrorist attacks of 9/11 ended the deal when the New York City company involved sustained serious financial impact, eventually going out of business and so too did my distribution deal and tour.Since then through self-promotion I’ve had several national tours, opened for many popular artists and released two full length albums along with a six track CD available for sale at my performances.In January 2007 I released my new thirteen track album titled "Something To Live For" now available at iTunes, CDBaby.com/markpires and any other digital music suppliers. Released as my first solo project I am currently looking to market this album and my soon to be released acoustic album Mark Pires “Senses” to record labels and music publishers. I've performed all over the country playing universities, clubs coffee shops and wherever original music is appreciated. During my live show I perform as a one man band and recently formed the Mark Pires Band to recreate the music on the new album Mark Pires "something to live for".
