Marques Taquan Haynesworth

Next up breaking onto the scene is “Marques” pronounced (Mar-Kez) born and raised in Greensboro, NC. The 17-year-old singer has opened for artists including…Anthony Hamilton, Reuben Studdard, Mint Condition & Fantasia. Gospel Recording artist, Vickie Winans, John P. Kee, Jay Moss & Tye Tribett. He's also received national exposure by winning BET 106 & Park Wild Out Wednesday's Male R&B competition on September 16, 2009. On August 18, 2010, Marques returned to BET 106 & Park and performed his new hit single "It's Money." Once again, he wowed the audience with a fantastic performance.
Marques' singing ability was first noticed at age three. He would sing “Amazing Grace”and “Hold On” at church and touched the hearts and minds of many people. By age eleven, he would go on to audition in numerous talent shows, gaining notoriety by wowing the audiences. He'd never miss a note with every one coming straight from his heart.
Haynesworth is making his presence felt on multiple levels. For the next five years focusing on his first love of singing, Haynesworth is not only scoring on the national stage, he’s scoring in the classroom and on the field! He's an AP honor student, football player and track star at Southeast High School.
He recently received gold medals in track & field. He also serves as a mentor to younger students.
Within this kid burns an aspiration to greatness. His musical work ethic is reflecting his growth as a young teen. Looking toward the future, Marques is continuing to perform on and off the stage while developing a style of his very own. He's just being himself and moving beyond the competition.
There's no doubt that Marques is the next one up on deck!
