Lead singer/songwriter Sean Lewis, pulls his inspiration from the efforts of Fred Cole, Billy Corgan, and Richard Wagner(for his gesamtkunstwerk philosophy), and their fervant efforts to create in every possible aspect of their work. Derived from the heavy hitting sounds of Helmet, Tool, and the Smashing Pumpkins, the Masonic Weird pull from other contemporary artists as well (Norma Jean, He Is Legend, and Mastadon), which stew into Masonic Weird's riff oriented doom rock.
